Covenant assists PCA Missionaries near and far

WorldIn many parts of the world fear and anxiety are part of the Christian life, where persecution is a real, and often daily, reality. Covenant Presbyterian Church supports various missionaries locally and around the world, some of whom must maintain their anonymity. There are few things as exciting as when these missionaries return to us with their personal stories and prayer concerns before they head back to the mission field. They remind us that God is alive and cares about people from every corner of the earth.

Rev. Dave Bennett, Pastor at Barrio Nuevo - New City - Phoenix

Rev. Bennett, and his wife, Anne, founded Barrio Nuevo - New City Phoenix - an intentional multi-racial mercy ministry.

New City Phoenix is an intentional multicultural and community development nonprofit that is embedded in an under-resourced neighborhood in South Phoenix. Their passion is to see the community go from being marginalized to becoming healthier. The nonprofit focuses on inspiring and empowering at-risk youth to elevate their life circumstances through becoming learners and leaders that make a difference in their families and communities.

Dave and Anne, alongside their volunteers and interns, seek to bring Biblical truth in a holistic fashion into the South Phoenix neighborhood to see lives transformed. It’s important to understand racial, socio-economic and cultural nuances when it comes to working in multi-ethnic community and world. There are many opportunities and programs offered to the community that promote transformation through gaining important life skills.

Mission to the World

mtw logoThe missions-sending agency of the PCA, MTW assists members of the local church to spread the gospel throughout the world. This work of extending the kingdom of God is accomplished through long-term and short-term missionaries working alongside national partners.

There is an ongoing need for church planters, with many avenues for teaching, evangelizing and providing needed services. Communities around the world have needs that can be met by sharing the gospel message, teaching English, caring for orphans, serving refugees or even running an art and music outreach.

Richard & Robyn Crane serve Latin America through Christian education and leadership training in pastoral psychology and counseling.

Stephen & Berenice Rarig are headquartered in Perth, Australia, but work with churches throughout Australia. They will soon be coordinating efforts in parts of Micronesia. They use conceptual art and performance mediums to communicate the Gospel in a creative and moving format.

Mike & Ashley Troxell serve in La Ceiba, Honduras, discipling and coaching national pastors.

Jeff & Heather Vaughn previously served in Costa Rica as church planters and community developers. They both recently earned a Master's Degree in Counseling at Reformed Theological Seminary. They are currently considering a new assignment.

Several Other Workers: We also support workers in parts of the world that we are not free to mention, for their safety and continued opportunity to serve.

Mission to North America

mna logoA church-planting and outreach agency, MNA coordinates ministries to serve PCA churches and presbyteries in North America in their mission to grow and multiply biblically healthy churches. The goal is to nurture a grassroots church planting culture in the PCA and promote church renewal as a way of life for all Christians and churches.

MNA also uses missional partnerships for disaster response and refugee or immigrant ministries. MNA demonstrates how PCA churches become houses of prayer for all nations, embracing a Great Commission vision. The intention is that the church will be renewed through gospel mission and ministering among the changing cultures of North America.

Aaron & Leticia Zapata live in El Paso, TX. Aaron works with Cristo Rey Presbyterian Church and is also the director of San Pablo Seminary across the border in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
